Purpose:

To seek authority to publish the 2023/24 Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment in accordance with authority as agreed by Executive Cabinet on 29 July 2020, minute no. 34 refers.
To seek authority to publish the 2024 Brownfield Land Register in accordance with authority as agreed by Executive Cabinet on 29 July 2020, minute no. 34 refers.

Decision:

That it be DETERMINED to:

 

1.     Publish the 2023/24 update to the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment in accordance with authority as agreed by Executive Cabinet on 29 July 2020, minute no. 34 refers.

 

2.     Publish the 2024 update to the Brownfield Land Register, in accordance with authority as agreed by Executive Cabinet on 29 July 2020, minute no. 34 refers.

 

3.     Note that once published, both the Strategic Housing and Economic Land Availability Assessment and Brownfield Land Register data will be published on the Council, GMCA, and the Central Government websites as open data, making it freely available for anyone to access, download, and make use of.

Reasons for the decision:

To comply with paragraph 69 of the National Planning Policy Framework and Planning Practice Guidance, ensuring that Tameside has a clear understanding of the land available for housing and economic development uses within the borough.

 

To comply with the Town and Country Planning (Brownfield Land Register) Regulations 2017 requiring the updating of Brownfield Land Registers, at least annually.
