To ensure the Council has an up to date Local
Development Scheme as required by Section 15 of the Planning and
Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended and meet the requests of
the Deputy Prime Minister that all local planning authorities
produce an updated Local Development Scheme (LDS) within 12 weeks
of the publication of the NPPF, i.e. by no later than 6 March
2025.
That it be DETERMINED to:
1. Publish and bring into effect in accordance with the date of this decision the updated Local Development Scheme as presented at Appendix 1.
To ensure the Council has an up-to-date Local Development Scheme (LDS) as required by Section 15 of the Planning and Compulsory Purchase Act 2004 (as amended) and comply with requests of the Deputy Prime Minster that all local planning authorities produce an updated LDS within 12 weeks of the publication of the NPPF, i.e. by no later than 6 March 2025.
The LDS sets out the key milestones for plan making that the Council proposes to deliver and identifies the nature and scope for the delivery of Development Plan Documents that are the local planning framework for the Tameside.
On 29 June 2016, Executive Cabinet approved an LDS and resolved that delegated authority be given to the Executive Director (Place) in conjunction with the Deputy Executive Leader, (the Executive Member for Planning at that time) to approve amendments to the LDS subject to the Executive Decision process.
