The Panel to meet Councillor Stephen Homer, Executive Member (Towns, Transport and Connectivity), and Julian Jackson, Director of Place, to receive a report providing an update on the progress made to develop a prioritised Highways Safety Programme following the reports presented at the Executive Cabinet meetings on the 22 November 2023 and the 30 October 2024.

The Panel to meet Councillor Andrew McLaren, Deputy Leader (Growth, Housing and Homelessness), Councillor Laura Boyle, Executive Member (Environmental Services and Neighbourhoods), Councillor Leanne Feeley, Executive Member (Lifelong Learning and Culture), Councillor Claire Reid, Executive Member (Strategic Improvement and Corporate Vision), and Julian Jackson, Director of Place, to receive a report presenting the corporate performance report for the Council’s Place directorate and the accompanying scorecard for the thematic area of Education, Employment, and Skills, and providing a summary of notable observations from the latest data.

The Panel to meet Julian Jackson, Director of Place, to receive a report outlining the discussions held during the scoping meeting on Wednesday, 2 October 2024 and proposing the scope of the Housing Standards in the Private Rented Sector Scrutiny Review, methodology, sources of evidence and witnesses to be called.

To receive a report of the Chair of the Place and External Relations Scrutiny Panel that sets out planned agenda items for the Scrutiny Panel’s future meetings and Forward Plan items that fall within the remit of the Scrutiny Panel.

To receive any updates from the Chair on the activity and future priorities for the Panel.

To note that the next meeting of the Place and External Relations Scrutiny Panel will take place on Tuesday, 14 January 2024.

To consider any additional items the Chair is of the opinion shall be dealt with as a matter of urgency in accordance with Section 100B(4)(b) of the Local Government Act 1972.
