The purpose of the report is to inform on a
new mandatory business support grant introduced by the government
in response to the economic situation arising from the COVID-19
pandemic. On 1 December 2020 the Secretary of State for Business,
Energy and Industrial Strategy announced a flat rate payment of
£1,000 as a Christmas Support Payment (CSP) for wet-led pubs
effective between 2 December 2020 to 29 December 2020. Guidance was
made available to Local Authorities on 9 December 2020.
