The draft Levelling Up and Regeneration Bill
contains proposals to further increase Council Tax charges on empty
properties and second homes, and the determination to increase
charges must be at least one year before the financial year to
which it relates. If the proposals become legislation before 31
March 2023 then an increased charge would be effective from 01
April 2024.
